- 20 million international visitors.
- 67 million domestic travelers.
- Tourism revenue of VND700 trillion, about US$25 billion.
- A 12% contribution to the city's gross regional domestic product (GRDP).
- A 28 to 32% share of national tourism revenue.
Jobs
The sector aims to generate 500,000 direct jobs and 750,000 indirect jobs.
Brand and events
- At least three internationally competitive tourism enterprises headquartered in the city.
- At least five city-branded events with regional and international reach.
- At least three large-scale international events, festivals and exhibitions each year.
Infrastructure and digital goals
- A complete tourism database by the end of 2028.
- Digitization of 100% of tourism resource and destination data.
- Development of smart tourism using science and technology, with a focus on green, smart, safe and sustainable destinations.
Eight action groups
The plan is organized around eight groups of action: institutional improvement, strategic breakthroughs, synchronized infrastructure, high-quality market development, tourism promotion, human resources, technology application and modernized governance.
What residents might notice
The article describes goals rather than specific projects or dates beyond 2028 and 2030, so changes will likely be gradual. If the targets are pursued, residents could see more large events and festivals, and more digital tourism information. Foreign residents working in hospitality, travel or event services may find the job targets of particular interest.
